Could you be a Soroptimist International Ambassador for G7?

Soroptimist International is seeking Ambassadors for the Civil Society 7 (C7) Group which is one of the official Engagement Groups of the G7 and represents positions from the international civil society. It provides a platform through which representatives from non-governmental organisations worldwide can network, develop policy recommendations, and enter dialogue with the G7.

Under the mentorship of Soroptimist and W7 Advisor Pat Black, you could be involved, working with
many other like-minded women, helping to raise the voice of women and girls to the G7 Leaders through the following Civil Society Working Groups.

  •  Nuclear Disarmament
  • Climate and Environmental Justice
  • Open and Resilient Societies
  • Economic Justice and Transformation
  • Global Health
  • Humanitarian Assistance and Conflict

If you would like to volunteer to join one of the groups, you will need to fill out an online application and await acceptance at: https://civil7.org/get_involved/
You can join as an individual, however, if you wish to join under the auspices of Soroptimist international, SI will expect you to have a keen interest in international affairs, a good knowledge of the work and policies of SI particularly at international level, and an awareness of issues affecting women and girls globally.

Further to this you will be asked to write text for official documents in English, write occasional blogs regarding C7 for the SI website, and report regularly to SI on any work carried out for C7.

If you would like further information, or you have now completed your application and been accepted, please email Pat Black at Soroptimist International.

*NB The G7 is an informal grouping of seven of the world’s advanced economies, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as the European
Union (EU) who is a "non-enumerated member".
