SI Melba Inc invites you to join us on Sunday 24 November to learn how Afghan women are establishing themselves in Victoria and how we can support them.
Tickets are $85 and include a glass of bubbly or mocktail on arrival and a delicious Afternoon High Tea.
All proceeds will go towards AWOV's Learn To Drive program for Afghan women in Melbourne.

We are honoured to have Dr Gula Bezhan, CEO of the Afghan Women's Organisation Victoria (AWOV) to talk to us. Gula has been working to empower the Afghan community and more specifically Afghan women and children for more than 20 years through her work in community services and international aid. Gula has become one of the leading community workers in Victoria for her committed work in piloting and running projects, programs and workshops for newly arrived women and families, such as the provision of Victorian drivers licenses, Australian citizenships, legal and government support. Gula founded AWOV in 2009.
SI Melba has been working with WISA on small scale projects to support Afghan women both here and in Afghanistan for over 10 years. This latest program is being run by the Afghan Women's Organisation of Victoria with the support of WISA. We believe the program fits well with the Soroptimist mission to transform the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities.
