Get Involved

You are here:

If you’re ready to make a positive difference to the lives of women and girls in your local area and beyond, we encourage you to get involved.

Become a Soroptimist

Here are five inspiring reasons to join Soroptimist International.

1. Make a personal difference

Participate in projects that empower and enable women and girls to realise their full potential and fulfil their aspirations. You can help create a direct and immediate benefit, giving back to your local and regional communities.

2. Connect globally

With over 70,000 members worldwide, Soroptimist International gives you the opportunity to collaborate with other members across the globe. We may be distant in geography, but we are all closely connected by our desire to help women and girls.

3. Advocate for change

With Soroptimist members present at all United Nations centres around the world, our organisation is well placed to help shape policy on key issues affecting women. You too can contribute to this discussion and ensure women are heard.

4. Be a global voice for women

Soroptimists have been championing gender equality and human rights since 1921. By actively getting involved, you too can help us achieve our vision.

5. Be your best

Soroptimist members are a diverse group of women, yet we all share the same single purpose - advancing gender equality. When you become a Soroptimist, you will find your people, regardless of age, location or background. Soroptimists build meaningful relationships and strong friendships, while developing new skills and having some fun along the way.

How do I join?

Membership is important to our organisation because our members deliver grassroots projects and undertake important advocacy. As we work towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, we are focused on issues such as gender equality, education and literacy for all, safety and health.

We offer two types of membership
