Lynn Ciurlionis currently a member of SI Melba, past member of SI Sydney and Thailand

Lynn held the position of Thailand National Representative 2002- 2006

As an expatriate In Thailand it was an enormous honour to represent Thailand Soroptimists at both Federation and International level. During this period Thailand moved from the SIGBI Federation to the South West Pacific Federation as we were geographically more aligned to our Asian and Pacific neighbours.
From this privileged position, wonderful opportunities flowed. Not least was being the delegate for SISWP to The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and representing all Soroptimists at UN meetings in Bangkok.
At this time Thailand was a very small region with just two clubs, however, due to United Nations Asian and Pacific Headquarters in Bangkok, and Thailand being a perfect holiday destination, we hosted many talented and inspirational women from a vast array of international organisations.
The National Representative role enabled me to observe and work with many NGOs, service clubs, and Not for Profits operating within Asia. A deeper understanding of the issues facing Thailand and our neighbours focused our volunteering, project work and advocacy.
