About North Shore
Welcome to Soroptimist International North Shore club – a group of women who actively make a difference to the lives of women and girls, locally, nationally and internationally. Our members welcome you at any of our club's events. We offer you friendship, fun and networking with interesting business, professional and philanthropic women. Making new friends is a given. Projects
Activities and projects:
• Celebrate International Women’s Day annually on the North Shore.
• Educate to Lead, a joint award for local women on the North Shore seeking help with the costs of education. A joint partnership with SI San Diego & SI North Shore.
• Upcycling craft workshops where participants learn how to repurpose unwanted clothes and help save the planet from textile waste going into landfill.
• Mentoring Programme open to local women on the North Shore. Mentors are matched directly to mentee’s interests.
• Project Uplift - collecting and sorting nearly new bras for women in need.
• Theatre Fundraising events for the Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship which gives funding for second chance tertiary education for women returning to the workforce in New Zealand.
• Annually celebrate International Women’s Day and partake in the 16 days of activism to advocate for zero tolerance of gender violence.
