Soroptimist Beenleigh amplify their voice for a more just world through awareness and advocacy, hosting a IWD breakfast enables our members to spotlight gender inequality by giving a voice to women.  Our guest speaker for this years breakfast event Natasha Smith, was the recent recipient of the Soroptimist International Women Empowering Others award a .category of the Young Achievers Award Australia

Soroptimist Beenleigh amplify their voice for a more just world through awareness and advocacy, hosting a IWD breakfast enables our members to spotlight gender inequality by giving a voice to women.  Our guest speaker for this years breakfast event Natasha Smith, was the recent recipient of the Soroptimist International Women Empowering Others award a category of the Young Achievers Award Australia. Natash was the face of the ‘Pump the brakes’ project, an article targeting career choices based on gender tradition. Natasha was also part of the ‘Girls on Track’ initiative, which holds events for school girls to help grow interest in STEM subjects. In 2019, Natasha won the Toyota national skills competition as a technician, the first female in Australia and globally to win.

This year’s theme of Embrace Equality by Cracking the Code to a gender equal future.   Will see women and organisations come together to honour the women of the past present and future as we learn about issues which women face today.

Tori Groves-Little,  Tori is an Australian rules footballer playing for Gold Coast in the AFL Women's League.  Groves-Little announced themselves as the first non-binary athlete in the AFL Women’s competition, paving the way for others to follow in their stead.
