Donnell is deeply passionate about climate, women and girls. After working in Government for 2 decades, she worked with industry, private consultancy, international NGOs, professional bodies and academia. As Associate Professor she uses professional accreditations in Audit, Programme Evaluation, Public Policy, Environmental Management, Coastal Planning and Urban Design – coaching Urban Climate Governance with interdisciplinary innovation and ethical design thinking techniques. She is deeply concerned about our Asia Pacific neighbours and our common futures.

Joanne has been a passionate Soroptimist since 1988. Joanne’s professional background in investment banking, public relations and investor relations is firmly entrenched in training. Her passion and interest have always been in the area of education with a focus of helping financially and emotionally challenged youths and children to help realise their potential. Literacy, self-development and skills training are some of the areas that have been the forefront of her work in empowering and capacity building.
She is currently the President of the YWCA of Kuala Lumpur, a member of a worldwide YWCA movement working for the empowerment, leadership and rights of women, young women and girls. And as the Chair and Board Governor of the YWCA Vocational Training Opportunity Centre, she is involved in providing much needed skills training for underprivileged young women and girls from economically disadvantaged families.

Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and is currently Manager of a non-profit organization called the Xanana Gusmao Reading Room (Timor Leste) The organization focuses on various initiatives and projects that aim to improve the lives of marginalized communities, with a special emphasis on the education and empowerment of women and girls, as well as students, teenagers, and children through the library and educational programs we run in Timor-Leste.

Saradha has been a Soroptimist since 2008 and is currently the Assistant Programme Convenor 2 at SISEAP. She recently served as the National Representative of Malaysia and a board director at SISWP from 2020 – 2022. She has previously held several positions at club and region level including President of SI Malaysia (SIROM) from 2017-2019. She spearheaded SIROM’s project “Clean Water for Rural Communities” to address the lack of potable water in rural villages in Sarawak and Sabah. In 2020, she helped to set up two more clean water projects in indigenous villages in Peninsula Malaysia. She is currently working on “Food Security and Economic Empowerment of Rural Communities” in Malaysia.
She also served on the Organising Committee of the SI Convention in Kuala Lumpur in 2019. She is passionate about education and environmental projects and believes that Soroptimists can be the bridge connecting community with the private and public sectors for optimal outcomes.
Saradha is a medical doctor and worked in both public and private hospitals for more than 25 years as a Consultant Physician/Cardiologist. She has also authored 3 books.
