In conjunction with Environment Month in June, Soroptimist International (SI) Region of Malaysia showcased its sustainable food security project in Bentong, Pahang, approximately 80 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur. The event brought together volunteers to address the pressing global issue of sustainable food security.

This initiative ensures everyone has access to nutritious, safe, and sufficient food while preserving the planet's biodiversity. The project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

The event featured engaging activities, including hands-on learning about growing ginger and ladies' fingers, harvesting aquaponic vegetables for a "farm to table" lunch, preparing beds for vegetable growing, and using natural pest control methods.

The event was attended by Soroptimist International President Siew Yong Gnanalingam, SISEAP President Joanne Yeoh and Region of Malaysia President Soon Lay Ean.
