Soroptimists Educate, Enable and Empower women by providing opportunities to fulfil their dreams through education. Gender equality starts with education. It enables women and girls to plan for their future and supports their economic growth.
Better educated girls tend to marry at a later age, have fewer, healthier children and are less likely to die at childbirth. They earn higher incomes and are more likely to participate in the labour market in a skilled profession. Through education, women can build a better future by becoming more involved in the decision-making that affects them, their families and their community.
Education is a fundamental human right and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 is dedicated to ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education. Education transforms individuals and families, and it benefits entire communities and economies.
Investment in education has far-reaching returns. That’s why, each year, Soroptimists from South East Asia Pacific provide scholarships and bursaries for women and girls to continue their education. Below you will find links to further information about the many scholarships provided each year.
