Soroptimist International of The Hills District Annual Public Speaking Competition Saturday 21st September 2024. The 2024 Public Speaking Competition is organised as a component of the Hills Shire Council Orange Blossom Festival. There will be 3 year-based divisions - Junior: Years 7 and 8, Middle: Year 9 and 10, Senior: Years 11 and 12. The 2024 United Nations – International Women’s Day Theme for 2024 was ‘Learning Power’.It challenged everyone to explore how lifelong and continual learning gives us power to change, grow and achieve our individual, team and organisational goals. Students will be asked to prepare and present a speech on the topic of: The Power of Learning. Students in the Junior division will be required to speak for 3-4 minutes and students in the Middle and Senior divisions will be required to speak for 5-6 minutes. OVIS Community Services in partnership with Soroptimist International of Mandurah Club Inc are excited to present the Hope & Dream Black Tie Gala supporting families to live a life free of domestic violence. Funds raised will support the Pat Thomas Refuge Expansion and Refurbishment. For $165 per person you will receive a 3 course dinner and drinks at your table on arrival. There will be fabulous entertainment and both auctions and silent auctions to help in raising much needed funds. "No Strings" entertainment will have you dancing the night away.
